Why Large ASDA Stores Close on Easter Sunday
Large shops in England and Wales are required to close on Easter Sunday. This is different from an ordinary Sunday, when qualifying large shops can trade for up to six consecutive hours within the permitted Sunday trading window.
Most full-size ASDA Superstores and Supercentres are large stores, so their ordinary Sunday timetable does not apply on Easter Sunday.

Branches can therefore trade but may use shorter opening hours than on an ordinary Monday. A supermarket normally listed from early morning until late evening should not be assumed to keep that whole timetable.
ASDA Express Can Follow a Different Pattern
ASDA Express should be treated separately from a full-size supermarket. Express stores are convenience locations, and many are based at petrol sites or other locations with extended operating hours.
