Saturday is often the point when ASDA’s long weekday trading ends. Many larger stores close around 10pm on Saturday, although some branches close earlier or later and smaller Express stores can use completely different hours.
If you normally visit ASDA late during the week, Saturday is one of the easiest days to get wrong because a midnight or 24-hour Friday timetable may no longer apply.
The Most Important Saturday Change Happens at Night
At some large Superstores, Saturday is not merely another weekday-style trading day. It is the end of the week’s longest continuous opening period.
A branch might remain open throughout Friday, continue into Saturday and then close at 10pm Saturday night. It then reopens for a much shorter Sunday trading period.
That creates a clear boundary between late-week and Sunday trading.
Saturday Closing Around 10pm Is Common, but Not Universal
Several current ASDA Superstore listings show 10pm Saturday closing even where weekday closing is midnight or the branch is open 24 hours during the middle of the week.
Other branches use a consistent 10pm timetable throughout most of the week, while smaller stores may stay open until 11pm.
It is therefore better to think of 10pm as a frequent Saturday pattern rather than an ASDA-wide rule.
A Saturday Timeline
Morning and afternoon
Most branches follow ordinary daytime shopping hours, and this is generally the least complicated part of Saturday.
Early evening
The supermarket is commonly still open, but some departments such as cafes or opticians may already be approaching their own closing times.
After 9pm
This is when checking the exact branch becomes important. A 10pm store has little time remaining, while an 11pm Express branch may still have longer.
After 10pm
Many large Superstores will already be closed even if they remained open until midnight or overnight on Friday.

The shorter Sunday shopping windows that affect many large stores in England and Wales do not apply to Saturday.
That is why a large ASDA can still trade until late Saturday evening and then reopen for only six hours on Sunday.

Saturday Collection Hours Can Be Shorter Than Store Hours
Click and Collect or drive-through collection points commonly have their own timetable.
At some large stores the supermarket may remain open until 10pm while grocery collection finishes around 8pm. An evening shopper can therefore still enter the store after the final collection slots have ended.

A petrol filling station may operate beyond the supermarket’s closing time, and some Express petrol stores are open 24 hours.
Other Express branches use schedules such as 7am to 11pm every day, including Saturday.
When searching late at night, confirm whether the result refers to a Superstore, an Express store or a petrol site.
Saturday Before Christmas Can Need Extra Attention
Seasonal schedules can override the normal Saturday pattern, particularly during Christmas and New Year periods.
If the Saturday falls close to Christmas Day or another major holiday, check dated Holiday Hours rather than relying on the standard weekly timetable.
