ASDA does not currently state a simple numerical limit on how many valid Rewards vouchers you can use in one eligible shop. In store, you can scan more than one valid voucher, and ASDA applies as many as the eligible value of your shopping allows. Online, eligible unused Rewards vouchers are automatically applied to your Grocery Home Shopping order up to the eligible order value.
The practical limit is therefore usually the value of your eligible shopping rather than a fixed rule such as “two vouchers per transaction”. Excluded products, discounts, voucher values and expiry dates can all affect which vouchers are actually used.
There Is No Simple One-Voucher Rule
ASDA’s current Rewards terms specifically explain what happens when a customer scans more than one valid voucher in store.
If the eligible value of your shop is greater than the combined value of the vouchers you scan, all of those vouchers can be applied.
This means ASDA Rewards should not be confused with promotional schemes that restrict shoppers to one voucher per transaction.
The Basket Value Creates the Real Limit
Suppose you have three valid Rewards vouchers:
- £2 voucher
- £5 voucher
- £10 voucher
Together they are worth £17.
If you have more than £17 of eligible shopping after relevant discounts and excluded products have been taken into account, all three valid vouchers can potentially be used.
The number three is not what makes the transaction valid. The important point is that the eligible shop is large enough to support the combined voucher value.
What Happens If Your Vouchers Are Worth More Than the Shop?
ASDA does not simply apply all scanned vouchers and give you the unused difference as cash.
If the eligible value of the shop is lower than the combined value of the valid vouchers you scan, ASDA applies vouchers according to its voucher rules without allowing the total applied value to exceed the eligible shopping amount.
At an in-store checkout, ASDA gives priority to valid vouchers with the earliest expiry dates.
Example: £20 of Vouchers Against a £14 Shop
Imagine you scan a £5 voucher, another £5 voucher and a £10 voucher against £14 of eligible shopping.
The combined voucher value is £20, which is greater than the £14 eligible basket.
ASDA will not apply vouchers whose combined value would take the redemption above the eligible cost of the shop. The relevant valid vouchers are selected according to ASDA’s expiry-order rules.
Any valid voucher that cannot be applied remains available subject to its existing expiry date.
Expiry Date Matters More Than Creation Date In Store
When you scan several valid Rewards vouchers at a physical ASDA checkout and they cannot all be used, ASDA prioritises vouchers with the earliest expiry date.
This helps use the voucher that is closest to expiring before one that has more time remaining.
You should still check your Wallet before shopping because every voucher remains subject to its own displayed expiry date.
Online Shopping Uses a Different Ordering Rule
ASDA Grocery Home Shopping handles multiple Rewards vouchers automatically.
If your Rewards account is linked to your grocery account, unused eligible vouchers can be automatically applied when you complete and pay for the order.
When more than one voucher is available online, ASDA currently applies them in the order they were created, beginning with the oldest-created voucher.
This is different from the in-store rule used when several scanned vouchers cannot all fit within the eligible transaction value.
Online Example With Four Rewards Vouchers
Suppose your Rewards account contains four valid vouchers worth £2, £3, £5 and £10.
If your online grocery order has sufficient eligible value, multiple vouchers can be applied rather than ASDA stopping automatically after the first one.
ASDA works through eligible vouchers beginning with the oldest-created voucher and continues up to the value supported by the online shop.

Excluded Items Can Reduce How Many Vouchers Fit
The total displayed at checkout is not always the same as the amount available for Rewards voucher redemption.
ASDA excludes certain categories from standard Rewards voucher use, including petrol, tobacco products, lottery products, gift cards, phone top-ups, pharmacy purchases and certain third-party products.
If a £50 basket contains £20 of excluded products, the voucher calculation may effectively be based on only £30 of eligible shopping.
This can reduce the number or total value of vouchers that can be applied.
Other Discounts Can Also Change the Calculation
ASDA calculates voucher eligibility after relevant discounts have been applied.
If another discount reduces the eligible value of your basket, there may be less remaining spend against which Rewards vouchers can be used.
This is why a basket that originally appears large enough for several vouchers can sometimes support fewer vouchers by the final payment stage.
You Can Create More Than One Rewards Voucher
ASDA also allows more than one voucher to exist in your Rewards account.
There is a maximum value for an individual voucher, with the current maximum shown in the Rewards app or on the Rewards website.
If your Cashpot is worth more than the maximum available value for one voucher, ASDA’s terms allow you to create more than one voucher.
This is another indication that the scheme is designed to support multiple Rewards vouchers rather than limiting each member to one active voucher.
Do Not Create More Vouchers Than You Expect to Use
Once ASDA Pounds have been converted into a voucher, they cannot be changed back into Cashpot value.
Every voucher also has an expiry date.
Creating several vouchers is therefore useful when you plan to spend them, but there is little benefit in converting a large Cashpot into multiple vouchers unnecessarily.
